Eye Movement Measurement

A controller using the occulometer and head tracker.

Our lab has state-of-the-art eye movement measurement equipment and software.  Our group uses the bright pupil reflection technique to detect the point-of-gaze.  We have used this technique to track what air traffic controllers look at when scanning information displays.  Our eye movement measurement equipment consists of an occulometer, also known as an eye tracker, and a magnetic head tracker.  The software that our programmers have developed enables us to track how people fixate on dynamic objects.  Our research has shown that eye movements air traffic controllers are quite different from what you would find in reading.
