Ferne Friedman-Berg, Ph.D.

Ferne Friedman-Berg is an engineering research psychologist with the Human Factors Team-Atlantic City. She joined the team in 2006 as a federal employee, having previously supported the team as a contractor for over four years. Dr. Friedman-Berg has conducted human-in-the-loop research examining how weather tool use influences air traffic controller performance metrics and compared weather tool designs by analyzing user interaction data. She has evaluated the use of eye-movement metrics as correlates of workload and to measure interest in display design components. She has also conducted research on aviation security issues and screener effectiveness and performance.
Dr. Friedman-Berg received her B.A. in Psychology from Temple University and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she also completed a graduate minor in statistics.
