Earl S. Stein, Ph.D.

Earl Stein served as a Supervisory Engineering Research Psychologist and manager of the Human Factors Branch at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center from 1999 until his retirement in June 2010. He joined the FAA in 1981.
Dr. Stein served as a researcher and technical lead doing both cockpit and air traffic control human factors research. He authored more than 100 publications in human factors and applied psychology, including co-editorship of a book Human Factors in Air Traffic Control (1998, Academic Press).
