Carolina Zingale, Ph.D.

Carolina Zingale is an engineering research psychologist with the Human Factors Team-Atlantic City. She joined the team in 2005 having previously supported the Research, Development, and Human Factors laboratory as a contractor. She has designed and conducted studies and assessments to evaluate tools and systems for air traffic controllers, pilots, and airway facilities specialists.
Prior to working at the FAA, Dr. Zingale was a member of the Human Factors Group at Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies where she designed and evaluated hardware and software products for development teams. She also taught previously at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Dr. Zingale received her B.A. in Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Cognitive Psychology from Rutgers University. She has over nine years of work experience in the human engineering of complex systems, and over four years experience developing and evaluating educational concepts for problem-based learning and assessment. Dr. Zingale is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the American Psychological Society.
