Nelson Brown


Nelson Brown is a Computer Scientist for the Human-Systems Integration Branch of the Federal Aviation Administration. He previously worked as an Operations Research Analyst for the Airports Safety Research and Development branch from 2006 to 2009 as a contractor. Nelson became a federal employee in 2009, focusing on automated testing for flight service systems and serving as an Operational Test Director for the Aeronautical Information Management Modernization programs. He joined the Human-Systems Integration Branch in 2016.

Nelson is a 21-year veteran of the New Jersey Air National Guard, where he served as a Crew Chief (Aircraft Mechanic) on the F-16.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a minor in Physics from Stockton University (2005), a Master’s degree in Mathematical Science from Rutgers University (2008), and a Master’s degree in Applied Statistics from Colorado State University (2024).
