Alex Konkel, Ph.D.


Alex Konkel is an engineering research psychologist with the Human-Systems Integration Branch. He has worked at the Technical Center since 2014 and been a federal employee since 2022. His projects have included human-in-the-loop simulations on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), usability for configuration management automation (CMA) and automated maintenance management system (AMMS), and best practice guidance for GUIs and NOTAMs. He received his Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience from the University of Illinois, where he studied memory and the hippocampus.
