Vicki Ahlstrom

Vicki Ahlstrom is an engineering research psychologist and technical lead for the Human Factors Branch. Vicki came to the Federal Aviation Administration in 1998 directly from graduate school at Vanderbilt University where she was studying experimental psychology. At Vanderbilt, her research focused on visual perception, including topics such as the perception of motion, biological motion, and binocular rivalry. Since joining the FAA in 1998, her research has included areas such as auditory alarms, communication and coordination, visual symbols, and errors. She also produced the Human Factors Design Standard, which is a set of human factors design criteria.
